glyphe My understanding was that fixation happens at different intervals depending on how trained you are as a reader. So if you read a lot, your brain will do less fixations and jump longer distances (saccades) because you have a larger vocabulary and can recognize word shapes faster.

glyphe So, while it might maybe help some people to read faster, this artificial highlighting of fixation points might also hamper the reading speed of more proficient readers…? But that’s just my uninformed first guess. 😉
