_marcusherrmann pfefferle Oh thanks! Seems like the service needs to be restarted because ubernauten rebooted the server. Thanks for pointing this out, Marcus! I'll fix it immediately! 😅

_marcusherrmann pfefferle ubernauten Regarding the setup: I used MailChimp first, but switched to a self-hosted Mailtrain instance on an uberspace. Mailtrain handles the signups, list management, and sending of the newsletter. The website itself is built with getkirby.

_marcusherrmann pfefferle ubernauten getkirby I collect the links and write the newsletter in Markdown in iAWriter, then copy it over to Kirby. In Kirby, I have a template for the web view and one for the newsletter HTML. I then copy this HTML into the Mailtrain editor.

_marcusherrmann pfefferle ubernauten getkirby iAWriter In Mailtrain, I have two lists: One is the real thing, one is a test list with only my email address in it. First, I send the newsletter to myself to proof-read it one last time and also check if all links are working.

_marcusherrmann pfefferle ubernauten getkirby iAWriter When everything looks ok, I switch the campaign from the test list over to the list of real subscribers and hit send. 😅

_marcusherrmann pfefferle ubernauten getkirby iAWriter So there are still a few manual steps involved but as the newsletter only goes out once a month this is fine for me. Setting up mailtrain was a bit of work, getkirby was super fast and convenient. But you know that already… 😉

_marcusherrmann helloanselm uses a similar but supposedly even more mature setup as he has thousands of subscribers. 😉
